The sun is shining, flowers are blooming and best of all the Tunica Queen is sailing. This is the perfect time of year to get outside and experience the Mississippi River onboard an authentic riverboat sailing from the Tunica RiverPark.
Spring has sprung and my pink clipboard has been resurrected from last year. It’s said when the clipboards come out around the Tunica Chamber of Commerce office that it’s planning time for the Rivergate Festival.

With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season over and the indecisive weather driving me nuts, a little earlier this month I decided to take a mini vacation away from it all for the night. I couldn’t decide where I wanted to go, but I knew I needed a little rest and relaxation, a little fun and maybe a little special treatment would also be nice. Go all in while in Tunica and not just at the Blackjack table. The G.W Henderson Aquatic Center is Mississippi’s largest natatorium. This means that even when it’s freezing outside you can still swim like it’s summertime.

Well, what can I say? I like to eat, and on my latest trip to Tunica, Hollywood Casino’s Fairbanks Steakhouse seriously hit the spot. My biggest shock occurred when I traveled upstairs from the casino floor and stepped in the entrance. I felt like I had completely left the casino and gone somewhere entirely different. If it had not been for the windows that overlooked the casino floor, I might have had to go back downstairs just to make sure I wasn’t in a different dimension. I was immediately greeted by the House manager, Rex Lafayette, who was beyond professional and accommodating. My servers Bryan Fernandes and Mamadou Bah, where some of the most impressive gentlemen anyone would ever want to meet. Their service was impeccable. (more…)
