    Football and Hunting Season is Here!

    August – the dog days of summer, it’s hot, dry, humid – hotter, dryer and just down right sticky here in the Mississippi Delta.  To top it off, summer is over and if you have children, it’s back to school time.  But August brings promise, the promise of the first weekend in September. Yes, on the first weekend of September each year, it’s the time most wives love to hate – SEC Football and the opening day of dove season.  And, that’s just the start, leading strait into a full season of the NFL complete with days of your significant other out communing with nature as it can only be found on a deer stand or in a duck blind!

    Free in Tunica!

    Everybody is watching their spending these days. Some have decided that the first they should cut back on is fun. The truth is fun can be costly at times, but it doesn’t always have to break the bank. I happen to love being able too show just how much fun I can have on the least amount of money, so recently I took it upon myself to try to spend an entire afternoon in Tunica on a budget of, well, ZERO dollars! Crazy sounding, right? Well I will have everyone know that It was probably the most fun I have had in a while and I left about as rich as I came. (more…)

    Take Me Away… to the Bellissimo Spa

    The Bellissimo Spa at Harrah’s Casino Tunica is the perfect way to unwind from the stresses of everyday life. Once you walk through the spa doors, you will soon forget the kids crying, husband complaining and your boss yelling at you to have your reports done.

    Chrissy and I decided that we needed a break and booked a day at the spa. We both scheduled appointments for a Pure Fiji Body Experience and a Hot Stone Massage. (more…)

    Bonus Symbols on Slots

    Not long ago, I watched from a couple of seats away while a woman played a bonus round on a Super Jackpot Party slot machine. If you play video slots, chances are you know the Jackpot Party format. The screen shows a grid of gift boxes while party music plays. You touch gift boxes to reveal bonus credits, and you get to keep picking until you pick a “Pooper” — perhaps a policeman or an irate neighbor putting a stop to the party noise. (more…)

    Living It Up on the Mississippi

    It was just another day on the Mighty Mississippi.  Barges traveling up & down to their unknown destinations, while the alligator gar peaked at the water’s break and the deer ran along the edge of the river.  Our group nervously walked down the boat ramp approaching the dock.  Only one of us had ever experienced an airboat ride until now.
