Travel Tunica Goes to the Greens

    Written by Travel Tunica

Most fans of Tunica enjoy playing games of leisure at our nine casinos, but our Travel Tunica group decided to step off of the casino floor this month for a different kind of game of leisure—learning how to play golf.  While this can be overwhelming to three people of different skill levels, Tunica National General Manager Bob Wolcott, a former PGA Tour player, got us swinging in the right direction for a day that everyone who comes to Tunica should experience. Why Comps Accumulate Faster for Slot Players than Low-limit Table Players

    Written by John Grochowski, Gaming

I once took a phone call from a reader who had a complaint:

“My wife plays quarter slots,” he said, “and she gets cash coupons and free buffet offers in the mail. I play $5 a hand blackjack, and I get nothing. What gives?”

What gives is that someone playing 500 spins an hour, betting three quarters at a time on a three-reel slot, risks $375 an hour. A $5 blackjack player at a full table plays about 50 hands an hour, and risks only $250 an hour.

Cool Down in Tunica! Pool Parties are Here!

Written by Lisa Konupka for Travel Tunica

Summer is here!  It gets hot in Tunica, but when Harrah’s throws a Heatwave Pool Party things get even hotter!

Chrissy, Claire, and I headed to cool off at the pool party recently.  We decided if we were going, we were going big, which included renting a cabana for the day.  The cabanas have a personal refrigerator, towels, chairs and even a misting system for cooling down.  Someone was always stopping by to ask if we needed anything.  We did have a few cabana boys, but unfortunately none were shirtless! Choices Make a Difference in Video Slot Bonus Rounds

    Written by John Grochowski, Gaming

Among the prime attractions of video slot machines are interactive bonus games that are a fun way to pile up credits without making extra wagers. Land three noisemakers on the screen in Jackpot Party, for example, and you get to touch the screen to choose gift boxes containing credits until a “Pooper” ends your party. On many games with free-spin bonuses, you’re first asked to touch an icon to reveal how many free spins you’re getting, and sometimes to touch an icon to reveal whether your winnings will be multiplied.

    Hot Number at Roulette

    Written by John Grochowski, Gaming

A roulette player e-mailed to say he likes to stay with a hot number — if a number is on the board three or more times in recent spins, he’ll keep betting it.

“I’ll bet the surrounding numbers, too,” he said. “If my number is 17, I’ll also bet 16 and 18.”
